Biking on labor day with Dave in Amish country yesterday.
We woke up to gray skies after a wonderful sunny weekend. Our hopes were the rain would hold off since we had planned this bike outing for a week. Lucky for us we did not get rained on. We biked until our rears could hold out no longer. Our biking neighbors were amish buggies, carts, wagons and other bikers. Although fall is not officially here the trail was strewn with orange leaves and the crickets were singing. The trail is level, thankfully. The scenery was beautiful; fields, barns, farms, and woods. We came upon a good sized wagon with at least eight amish people in it, pulled by two bi-colored small draft horses. The occupants were laughing and talking. Our country outing was invigorating. We stopped at Wendy's and treated ourselves to a rootbeer float and give our bottoms a rest. I took quite a few photos which are posted on facebook.
On the way home we stopped at a small roadside stand selling watermelons for a buck. We could not resist purchasing our own edible green bowling ball.
Harvest season is wonderful.
